slowthai has shared the shocking, eye-catching new video for 'Doorman' - tune in now.
The Northampton artist is sitting on the cusp. 2019 opens with slowthai on the cover of Clash, hype nestling on his shoulders as he tops those Ones To Watch polls for the year ahead.
He seems completely unmoved by it all, however, focussing on the art via a series of single drops and live shows.
New single 'Doorman' was produced by Mura Masa, a punk-edged return inspired by a debauched night out in West London.
Speaking on the track, slowthai said: "I was at some yard in Chelsea after a night out and I saw 4.5 million pound paintings hanging on the wall and it made me sick… I went to the studio the next day and wrote Doorman. Doorman, let me in the door.”
The visuals are online now, a powerful, hyper-stylised watch that channels the legacy of Danny Boyle's Trainspotting while framing it in a 2k19 landscape.
Tune in now.
