Ren was born in East London, with his path quickly taking him in another direction.
Studying music, he found his way to Newcastle, where he quickly fell in love.
An intense period in his life, the relationship fell apart, leaving him far from home, outside of what he had known.
This spell influences new song 'Spencer Street', a frank but warm look at those weeks and months, and what could come next.
Out now, it's “a nostalgic song reflecting on a relationship and life I had in Newcastle a few years ago. I wrote it whilst I was on the road a year or so after the break up. But Spencer Street with her still felt like home to me.”
Recorded in London, it finds Ren coming full circle, with the video amplifying this bittersweet reflection.
Ren finishes: “It feels great to put the song out there and it's definitely a full stop at the end of a chapter in my life that I found difficult to close.”
