Premiere: Murkage Dave And Lansky Jones Recorded For Clash Live At Metropolis Studios

In association with Ellesse

A very special Clash film airs today, starring Murkage Dave and Lansky Jones in conversation at Metropolis Studios, and featuring a live performance of their transatlantic collaboration ‘Keep Up The Bad Work (Remix)’.

Last month, an intimate, assembled audience witnessed the meeting of two worlds as Clash Live brough together East London’s Murkage Dave and Lansky Jones, who hails from Queens, New York, on stage to throw it down in one of the most prestigious and historic studio environments, wearing customised apparel made in collaboration with Ellesse to the artists' exacting instructions

Best known for his work as a member of Queens collective World’s Fair, Lansky Jones opened the night with tracks from his solo album, ‘Dangerfield’, serving up a more dynamic take on the album tracks for the live arena and demonstrating his penchant for introspective storytelling, via a palette of gritty NYC rap.

Fans were then treated to a rare opportunity to see Murkage Dave in such an exclusive hometown setting. His electric set brought to life his acclaimed debut album, ‘Murkage Dave Changed My Life’, and included the first outing of this storming remix, which is due to appear next year on a special expanded edition of the album that will also include features from Stones Throw signee Peyton, South London’s JGrrey, grime MC Lioness, New York rapper Jeff Donna, vocalist/producer NARX and Brighton hip-hop duo Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn.

"We're from different cities and we make different sounds, but when we express ourselves me and Lansky Jones are saying a similar thing,” Murkage Dave said ahead of the pair’s first meeting at Clash Live. You can watch what went down now in our heartwarming short film.
