"Have you got the skill, though?"

Politics and music might not always mix, but protest is a necessary part of being creative.

The demise of The King Blues robbed British music of a genuinely outspoken voice, one which - whether right or wrong - always aimed to provoke, to enlighten. iTCH cut his teeth with the group, adding his rhymes to the London band's fusion of punk, ska, hip hop and more.

Turning solo, iTCH has no intentions of turning down the temperature. Premiered on Zane Lowe, new single 'Best Shot' is a righteous blast of hip hop with a UK slant - so throw in some dubstep, some electronics for good measure.

As a taster, Clash has been handed a special video. Shot in one take, iTCH recites the rhymes for 'Life Is Poetry' whilst staring directly into the camera. Rolling between political protest and personal polemic, it's a powerful piece of writing which only gains in intensity with his reading.

Watch it now.
