Ara Koufax
It's a stellar return from the Melbourne electronic duo...

Melbourne's electronic scene is booming.

The city is one of Australia's real creative hubs, a place where free-thinking seems to be part of the fabric of everyday life.

Ara Koufax call the city home, and their fragrant, analogue-driven electronics has a boundary-less creativity.

New release 'Shame' b/w 'Shades Of Blue' is out now, and it's rapidly making the pair's reputation on an international level.

Part of a new breed of talent placing Melbourne firmly on the map, their DIY approach renders their music with a human touch.

Ara Koufax explain: “We usually write at home, so we could try a whole new approach with these - recording long, improvised takes at a volume that'd usually get the neighbours riled up. We didn't realise until later that pretty much everything recorded with a microphone has the sound of a shit fan and an air compressor going off in the factory next door.”

As for the release itself, they add: “Both tracks were made over a couple of summer days in a stinking hot studio. We had stumbled across a piece of gear – the Roland System 100 – and these tracks are the result of us learning how to use it”.

We're able to share the full visuals for 'Shame', and the undulating, expansive electronics are set against a video directed by the duo's Luke Neher.
