Novelist’s ‘Dot Dot Dot’ Is An Inspiration

Grime artist returns with a video designed "to provoke thought..."

Novelist has shared the crisp, powerful video for 'Dot Dot Dot'.

The grime rapper notched up a Mercury nomination with his debut album 'Novelist Guy', a remarkable success from an entirely independent artist.

Self-written, self-produced, self-mixed, and self-released, 'Novelist Guy' presented an artist who wanted to be truly DIY.

Taken from the record, 'Dot Dot Dot' has a pared down sense of minimalism, adding to the intensity of Novelist's bars.

The visuals were shot in Manchester's China Town, a powerful black and white clip designed "to provoke thought".

He explains: “The inspiration behind the video was to provoke thought and listening, the video is quite dark and minimal for this purpose. There is a vignette on the whole video to emulate a thought or having a vision…”
