Scottish singer takes the central role in a sensual dance...
'The River'

KT Tunstall is embracing her own humanity.

2016's full length 'KIN' launched a trilogy, an ambitious album cycle that sought to explore themes of spirit, body, and mind.

New record 'WAX' arrives on October 5th, a biting return produced by Nick McCarthy, founding member of Franz Ferdinand.

Featuring guitar from friend and collaborator Charlotte Hatherley, it's a biting return, one that updated that classic rock sound from a very feminine slant.

As KT herself puts it: "I knew before I started writing that I wanted it to be an electric guitar record. It had to be visceral, about the physical, and the obstacles of that. It's a record about human-ness, which we so often just write off as 'flaws'. Wax evokes colonies of bees, candlelight, the material that the first long-playing records were made of but more than that, wax is produced inside your own head".

New song 'The River' leads the way, a soaring, searing return, with a rousing chorus tinged with elements of sun-strewn Americana - viewed from the drizzle of Fife, we're sure.

Director Alexo Wandael takes charge of the full video, featuring a radiant KT Tunstall embarking on a sensual routine with dancer Alex Thomas.

KT tells Clash: "My mantra when I woke up that morning was: Today, I am a dancer. I know how this song makes me feel. I wanted the emotion of that to come through our faces, our bodies and our movement, rather than relying on colour."

Watch it now.

KT Tunstall will release new album 'WAX' on October 5th.
