Shot for $13...
David Bowie

David Bowie is one of the most successful songwriters of all time, someone who is used to lavish budgets and no-expenses-spared stunts.

Yet a new video finds David Bowie side-stepping all these trappings of success. James Murphy recently stepped in to remix ‘Love Is Lost’, adding a Steve Reich twist to the track.

Placed online, the remix now has an official video. Premiering last night (October 30th) at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize, the clip was seemingly shot for just $13 and is set in Bowie’s New York apartment.

Opening with the singer washing his hands, it also features an extremely lo-fi representation of David Bowie as a clown – echoing his ‘Ashes To Ashes’ video. Watching events unfold with a wry grin, it seems that Bowie has once again dodged expectations with another conceptual, hugely involving video.

Watch it now.
