Aro Vana's name means 'merciful hunter', but she certainly doesn't show mercy on new single 'XVII'.
Killer alt-pop with a venomous delivery, the single marks an introduction of sorts to the Connecticut born, British raised artist.
Lucid, striking, and wholly accurate, Aro Vana's world was shaped by music from a young age, a means to both reflect and alter her surroundings.
'XVII' gets to the heart of the matter, dealing with why exactly this newcomer needs music in her life. She explains:
"an origin is the beginning of everything, and so it is with this. Each song represents a piece of the basis of why I write; for the love, for the mind, for the experiences, be they dark of light - the acceptance of both within us is what makes us human. It's okay to have dark thoughts."
