MTV Apologise To Black Keys

After trophy mishap

Black Keys have received an apology from MTV after the wrong name was written on their VMA trophy.

Award shows are littered with mishaps. Aside from Kanye West, recent shows have seen the wrong winner announced at Australia’s Next Top Model with the clip reaching a worldwide audience.

Known for their inventive promos, Black Keys recently won an award at the MTV VMAs. However when they got back to their seat the duo noticed that the gong had someone else’s name on it.

Yes, the blues rockers had been incorrectly labelled ‘Black Eyed Peas’. Goodness knows how that happened, but in a quick about turn MTV have delivered a new trophy and an apology to Black Keys.

“MTV sincerely regrets the clerical error that resulted in the Black Keys receiving the wrong VMA awards. We are happy to report new trophies reflecting the Black Keys’ win are currently in development and they should receive them shortly.”

“Lastly, we thank The Black Keys for their considerable patience and understanding regarding this matter.”

Meanwhile, The Black Keys are the latest group to record an iTunes session. The pair stopped by the studio for a quick run through their live set, which contained several tracks from the recent ‘Brothers’ set.

Amounting to ten tracks, the new iTunes session is a good representation of the energy of the duo’s live set. Throwing in a couple of old classics, you can grab hold of the live set HERE.
