Kendall Jenner Channels Her Inner Equestrian For Stella McCartney AW23

AW23 belongs to the horse girls.

Kendall Jenner has been unveiled as this season’s Stella girl. Shot by HarleyWeir in Camargue, a region in southern France famous for the white horses featured alongside Jenner. The AW23 campaign marks Jenner’s debut project with Stella McCartney,

Set in the Salt Flats of Camargue, the campaign is almost otherworldy as the ground resembles snow and sand. The hero shot sees Jenner lying naked on a white horse in thigh-high boots and holding a matching bag, in another, Jenner stretches back before a rearing horse in an all-black ensemble and another image stands sees her amongst the horses in a tailored red skirt suit.

“I knew this season’s Stella girl had to love horses as much as I do. Kendall has been riding since she was a kid, just like me, and has her own ranch; you can see how at ease she is around these sensitive creatures, and them with her. Capturing this connection brings Horse Power to life, both through the fashion and the vision.” – Stella McCartney

The horses for the campaign were provided by the horse whisperer and rescuer Jean-Francois Pignon. Trained to follow directions without physical contact, Pignon’s famous white ponies exude an air of elegance and calm throughout the campaign.

The equestrian campaign showcases the evolution of McCartney’s affinity and care for animals as she presents her most responsible collection to date. The ready-to-wear has crafted from 92% eco-conscious materials and includes vegan crocodile-effect Frayme and S-Wave bags crafted from apple waste and riding boots from grape waste. The collection also features accessories crafted from fungi mycelium and MIRUM®, a plant-based alternative to animal and plastic materials.
