Keane 3D Broadcast

Band make world first

Unlikely record breakers Keane are set to make a world first with a live webcast from Abbey Road – in 3D!

Keane have had a spectacular comeback. With lead singer Tim Chaplin in rehab and work on their third album frozen it seemed that the timid trio may have been ready to throw the towel in.

However Keane roared back with last year’s album ‘Perfect Symmetry’. A much rockier affair than previous efforts, the album also alluded to the singer’s personal problems with a series of very intimate recordings.

The band are no strangers to using new technology. Keane released an album in 2006 on USB stick, and made extensive use of the net during the recording of ‘Perfect Symmetry’.

Keane will record a live session at Abbey Road, London which will be streamed in 3-D. In addition to this the stream will also feature live mixed graphics from world renowned digital artists D-Fuse.

A statement from the band supports the project. “We believe that the tradition of rock’n’roll is to always innovate, to bring new ideas and concepts into music. We are therefore incredibly excited about the prospect of being the first band to beam our music live in 3D over the internet. Over the last couple of years, our website has become a hive of artistic creativity for us and our fans.”

Fans can claim a free pair of 3D glasses with the band’s forthcoming single ‘Better Than This’.

Keane will play live from Abbey Road on April 2nd.
