Faith No More Added To Download

Metal legends to headline festival

Start believing people! Faith No More have been added to the line up for this year’s Download festival.

Formed in early 80s California, it wasn’t until the introduction of frontman Mike Patton that the band began to make waves. Blending the nascent thrash sound with some unusual influences (easy listening anyone?) Faith No More became cult favourites.

1989’s album ‘The Real Thing’ saw Faith No More breach the mainstream, but their famously troubled personal politics resulted in guitarist Jim Martin exiting the band in 1993.

Faith struggled on however, releasing one more classic album ‘King For A Day… Fool For A Lifetime’ before splitting in 1998. The band announced their reformation last week, and will play minus guitarist Jim Martin.

The group will line up as: Mike Patton, bassist Billy Gould, drummer Mike Bordin, keyboardist Roddy Bottum and guitarist Jon Hudson.

Download is one of the biggest rock and metal events in Europe, held annually in Donington Park for many it is the highlight of the summer. Attracting some massive names, this year’s event has already confirmed appearances by Slipknot and metal pioneers Def Leppard.

Download will take place between June 12th – 14th.
