A stunning politicised message from the vaults...

The uncovering of a full-length album from an artist as captivating and enigmatic as Prince almost seems unfathomable, given his already extensive contribution to music. However, 11 years after its completion, ‘Welcome 2 America’ has now been released from Prince’s legendary vault in Standard and Deluxe Editions.

Recorded as Prince reflected on issues affecting the Black community, the album documents his concerns and visions for a shifting society, most poignantly in tracks 'Running Game (Son Of A Slave Master)', Soul Asylum cover 'Stand up and B Strong', and the opening title track. While it might appear that this body of work eerily foreshadows our current era of immense political division, ‘Welcome 2 America’ in fact illustrates the unrelenting struggle for a fairer society. 'Upbeat YES' is quintessentially Prince, thanks to its rippling guitars and layered electro-funk.

Adrenaline fueled, sultry and dramatic, ‘Welcome 2 America’ is laced with insatiable guitar solos that weave through his message for racial justice.

Dig This? Dig Deeper! The entire Prince catalogue - no one else compares!
