'You Got Love' has a stark sense of soul...
Upstairs Open

Upstairs Open are difficult to place.

The duo's new single 'You Got Love' is a complex but simple song, outwardly infectious while the lyrical wordplay weaves in and out.

Bolstered by refreshing production, Upstairs Open seem to be able to take their music in several different directions at once.

This new live session, though, forces the pair to make up their minds. Stripping the song down to little more than guitar and vocals, the Americana-influenced riff underpins a stark melody.

They explain: "'You Got Love' is a song about temptation, lust, and discovery. People can become lost in curiosity, with a bittersweet understanding of knowing that when you can't have something, you want it more."
