Sabella released her debut EP last year, a precocious pop document that exploded with fresh ideas and exotic melody.

Heading back into the studio, the pop newcomer is now ready to make her next statement, to issue her next clarion call.

'Fortress' is a soaring return, pop at its most artful while still losing itself utterly to wholesale abandon.

The production glistens with precision, and when that chorus kicks in it feels as though summer could go on for all eternity. She tells Clash:

“’Fortress’ is about a fortress of your mind. It’s meant to be a very free thing – like, ‘I’ll go in to my own world , I’ll build a fortress around me.’ Turn off your peripheral vision and don’t look beyond what you are.”
