Husky Loops are an incredible live force.
A band whose bark and bark come in equally intense amounts, their shows leave smouldering craters in every venue they touch.
Debut album 'I CAN'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH' is the point where their songwriting begins to unravel, when their finer nuances become apparent.
Sometimes tender, sometimes touching, it lands on September 6th and it preceded by an intimate show at London's Rye Wax tomorrow night (August 15th).
New single 'I Think You're Wonderful' hails from those album sessions, with the band taking care of their own production.
Out now, it's a raw, emphatic offering, a song about connection, about the bonds that exist between people.
Appropriately, then, Husky Loops asked their friends and fans to take part in the video process, jotting down drawings as they listened to the song.
The results were pieced together on iPad Pro, and there's a subtle immediacy to the way in which the project was completed.
Retaining the raw nature of their songwriting but adding elements of new technology, it's an eye-catching return from a group not easily pigeon-holed.
Speaking about the video, Husky Loops drummer and the video director Pietro Garrone says:
“Our new video was created by a bunch of genuinely great moments of people (fans, friends and strangers) listening to the track for the first time, and that makes it a piece we are proud of.”
“Most people think they can’t draw, when really all it takes to make a meaningful drawing is imagination and daring to do it. There is so little stopping you from doing seemingly small things that can have such a positive impact.”
“The whole album I Can’t Even Speak English is about inviting action, participation – and if our art can be a blank sleeve for our fans to fill, so be it.”
Tune in now.
