Deadline For Event Approaches

A an exciting new project to put fan's in charge of a music festival has been announced - and the deadline for entering is drawing near.

Tennent's Mutual, a co-operative event between the brewery and major promoters, will provide £150,000 for music fans to book their favourite artists. Fans can sign up via the official website, with only registered members capable of voting on major decisions.

The live music programme is set to take place in October / November, but voting registration closes on Monday 30th June. Already the Tennent's Mutual site is buzzing with tips and rumours on which bands should be playing. The site runs a chart breakdown of the preferred acts, with the Top 40 including M.I.A., Sufjan Stevens, Crystal Castles and many more.

Tennent's Mutual will act as a replacement of sorts for the highly successful Triptych event, which this year closed with headline performances from Jamie Lidell, Mogwai and many others.

Elaine Forbes of Tennent's had the following to say about the event:

"We have put £150,000 on the table for music fans to invest in the live music programme that they want to see in Scotland but there is only a couple of weeks left for those who haven’t already joined up, to get registered and help shape the very first Tennent’s Mutual shows. We want as many music fans as possible who care about the scene in Scotland to get involved."
