SPELLLING’s ‘Hard To Please’ Is An Outrageous Piece Of Synth Pop

It's a left field ear-worm with artful tendencies...

SPELLLING has signed to Sacred Bones, with a new two-part single incoming.

The work of Tia Cabral, SPELLLING is a place for her to deposit her synth pop phantasias, with her work recalling everyone from FKA twigs to those early Grimes singles.

Debut album 'Pantheon Of Me' arrived last year, with the West Coast artist now signing to Sacred Bones for a new single release.

A two-part single drop, lead track 'Hard To Please' is online now and it's in turns lush and threatening, inherently catchy and extremely experimental.

She purrs: “you're so independent but that’s going to change real soon, with my other voice I can destroy this room…”

Laneya Billingsley (aka Billie0cean) directs the visuals, with SPELLLING insisting that the aim is to “animate the fantasies of the heart high on desire… The video builds a landscape infected by overwhelming passion for an unrequited love.”

Tune in now.
