It was written in South Africa...

Potent pop voice Shells released her debut EP as 2016 drew to a close, and her frosted melodies seemed apt for the plunging temperatures.

Since then, though, new movement has been difficult to find - she's retreated somewhat, planning her next move, and writing new songs.

Gathering the best of these, Shells' second EP 'Colours' is set to come into focus over the coming weeks and months.

New song 'Heart Beating' was built in South Africa, written during a music camp run in association with the non-profit organisation Star For Life.

Delicate digital pop with a coy vocal, it's about the first rush of love, the urge towards freedom and the bliss of enrapture.

Lifting the bar once more, 'Heart Beating' is a sign that Shells' incoming EP 'Colours' is well worth waiting for.
