London singer Samm Henshaw returns with new single 'Still Broke'.
Samm's long awaited debut album 'Untidy Soul' is incoming, featuring work rooted in his gospel background while also looking to the future.
'Still Broke' leads on R&B tropes but gives them a UK twist, and it's about learning to pick yourself up from rock bottom.
Topped off with some gorgeous trumpet from jazz musician Keyon Harrold, it was sculpted alongside close collaborator Josh Grant.
“When I wrote ‘Still Broke’ I’d just been dropped from my label and broken up with my girlfriend right around the same time. It’s a song about how you can have everything you want in the world but still feel quite empty, and how success is actually internal—which is a lesson I’d needed to learn.”
Tune in now.
