Sam Tompkins, LOTM All-Stars, Piers James, Jimmy Napes, Owen Cutts + More For Clash Live

In association with Vero True Social

Clash Live returns to London next week with a vengeance following two back-to-back sold-out events at The Curtain featuring a host of our favourite talent in association with Vero, including a roadblock collaboration with Lord Of The Mics and Rolls-Royce.

Not ones to rest on our laurels, we are pleased to announce details of the next Clash Live event, which will take place on Wednesday 28th August, running from 7:30pm – 1:00am

The first 200 people to RSVP via the form below will get spaces on the guestlist for them and friends and a free copy of Clash Issue 112 at the event whilst stocks last.

Sam Tompkins

Sam tells it like it is. The songwriter matches classic pop tropes to an astute awareness of the UK underground, fusing his soulful tones with hip-hop style beats.

Recent single 'Follow Suit' saw Tompkins raising his artistry to a fresh level, while new track 'You Broke My Heart So Gently' is out now and fast racking up streams and spins across radio. An emotional number that deals with a break-up and the grieving process, the full video – written by Sam and co-directed with Jack Bowden – epitomises this, underpinning the artistic integrity that runs through his work.

When Clash announced Sam was playing an intimate invite-only set next week at our monthly Metropolis Studios residency, tickets sold out in minutes. So fast, in fact, that we didn't have a chance to list the show on Clash channels! With over 1200 fever pitch fans wanting to attend, the phone has been off the hook ever since.

Therefore, due to popular demand and to give our reception a rest, we are pleased to announce a second performance on August 28th, this time right in the heart of Shoreditch.

Lord Of The Mics All-Stars

Earlier this month we hosted the LOTM VIII launch event. With a cavalcade of Rolls-Royces parked outside, inside the event guests were treated to private screening of LOTM VIII and free drinks courtesy of Hennessy and Havana Club Rum.

Downstairs in the LP club space, Clash hosted a party with DJs spinning into the early hours, and an MC cypher that went down in the annals featuring season 8 MCs alongside BBK veterans including Jammer, Skepta, Shorty, Frisco, Maximum, D Double E and many more on the mic.

This month we give the LOTM All-Stars a chance to shine solo performing original material. Expect a madness kept just below boiling point by ringmaster Jammer.

Piers James

Piers James has always been an outsider talent. Growing up in Ipswich, he worked outside the urban spheres of London, Birmingham, and Manchester, and developed an individual style in the process.

Opening last year eager to make up for lost time, breakout cut 'Done Properly' dominated radio. Influenced by grime, underground rap, and UK hip-hop, the track didn't quite fit in to conventional brackets – but then, neither does Piers James.

This year Piers has been locked away from us all honing new material, so we are excited to get a rare peek into this evolution and host an unforgettable PA set.

Jimmy Napes (DJ Set)

A super-producer and multi-intsrumentalist performer as capable behind the desk as he is on the microphone performing, Jimmy has already amassed a trophy cabinet including an Oscar, Golden Globe, Grammy and Ivor Novello, having written for Disclosure, Sam Smith, Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys, James Bay and many more.

Also stepping into the limelight with his own solo material, Jimmy's soulful influences cast forward into a future dominated by shimmering R&B, with shades of infectious jungle thrown in for good measure.

We are honoured to host a Jimmy Napes DJ set and have him skanking behind the Clash Live decks.

Owen Cutts (DJ Set)

North Londoner Owen Cutts has produced more Clash Track Of The Days and Listen features than you can shake a fist at.

A performer and DJ tour de force with recent work including production duties for last month’s Clash Live superstar Greentea Peng, plus Max Dury, Lily Allen, Empara Mi, Balcony and many more, he even finds the time to co-host a podcast series alongside Reggie Yates.

Catch Owen’s exclusive DJ set at this month’s Clash Live.
