Ronnie Wood Announces New Salute To Jimmy Reed

Recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall...

Ronnie Wood has laid out plans for new album ‘Mr Luck – A Tribute to Jimmy Reed: Live at the Royal Albert Hall’.

The album was recorded at the historic London venue back in 2013, and finds Ronnie Wood paying homage to a formative hero.

Blues icon Jimmy Reed left an immaculate catalogue, with hits such as 'Shame Shame Shame' and 'Bright Lights Big City' becoming key touchstones during the British blues boom.

The Ronnie Wood Band played a special set in honour of Jimmy Reed on November 1st 2013, with Mick Taylor guesting on guitar.

It's a unique moment – when Mick Taylor departed the Rolling Stones in 1974 a certain Ronnie Wood was invited to join, and the rest is history.

Out on September 3rd, ‘Mr Luck – A Tribute to Jimmy Reed: Live at the Royal Albert Hall’ features 18 tracks, and guest spots from Bobby Womack, Mick Hucknall and Paul Weller.

Ronnie comments: “Jimmy Reed was one of the premier influences on the Rolling Stones and all the bands that love American blues from that era until the present day. It is my honour to have the opportunity to celebrate his life and legacy with this tribute.”

‘Mr Luck – A Tribute to Jimmy Reed: Live at the Royal Albert Hall’ will be released on September 3rd.
