Richard Ashcroft Claims Soccer AM Image Was “Doctored”

The drugs don't work, kids...

Richard Ashcroft has claimed that an image from his recent Soccer AM appearance was "doctored".

The songwriter appeared on the long-running television staple a few weeks ago, but when he clambered across the couch on-set something appeared to fall from his jeans.

Images shared online suggested that is was a small bag, with Twitter chat suggesting that it could be drugs.

Richard Ashcroft seemed to address the furore on his song 'Hey Colombo', singing: "Ever get stitched up, matched up, crucified before you open your eyes? / Did you ever have your baby patted down? Strip searched? Are you the fucking clown?"

He spoke to LADBible recently, and mused on the incident: "I don’t know how many national publications printed a picture that someone had sent in from online.

It’s strange when you have been in the game this long that this idea would take place. But to see the effects of a doctored photograph by an individual, who we don’t know who it is."

The singer added: "But believe you me, you are going to regret doing that, whoever you are…"
