New album 'Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon' due on February 16th
The Wave Pictures

Almost infuriatingly productive, The Wave Pictures like to move quickly.

So when the band began to search for a new collaborator, one name immediately sprang to mind. Novelist, poet, painter, cultural provocateur and garage punk hero, Billy Childish oversees the band's next album.

It's a somewhat appropriate marriage. Billy allowed The Wave Pictures into his studio, letting the band use his vintage 60s equipment.

Frontman Dave Tattersall said that he "was a joy to work with and we love the record. It was the most fun we've ever had making a record and to us it's the most exciting sounding thing we've ever done."

Out on February 16th via Moshi Moshi (pre-order LINK), 'Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon' is another step forward. Ahead of this, new cut 'Pea Green Coat' is online now, with Clash able to premiere the accompanying visuals.
