Band criticised by style mag

Of Montreal may be cresting a wave of critical adulation after the release of recent album 'Skeletal Lamping' but that hasn't allowed them to escape the wrath of the fashion press.

Not known for their stylistic flair, the group instead concentrate on producing great music. Led by Kevin Barnes, Of Montreal have operated for over a decade, building a cult following until last year's 'Skeletal Lamping' saw them become critical darlings.

However, all that sonic majesty isn't enough for some people. Web-based fashion magazine Glamour regularly runs a feature on fashion mistakes, and has decided to focus on Of Montreal's guitarist Brian Poole.

According to the website "A little scruff is sexy. Looking like a caveman from head to toe is not. What is that shirt?"

The band's ninth studio album, 'Skeletal Lamping' contains a fashion element, with singer Kevin Barnes introducing his cross-dressing stage persona Georgie Fruit. Often dressing in full drag, we dread to think what Glamour would make of this bizarre gender bending creation.

Of Montreal's 'Skeletal Lamping' is out now. It's well worth getting.
