Fast rising London group NSG will not be playing Afro Nation festival, it has been confirmed.
The group are riding high after a flurry of hit singles, including their addictive new release 'OT Bop'.
Rapidly becoming a summer anthem, the group's set at Croydon's Ends festival was one of the weekend's true highlights.
Booked to play Afro Nation Festival in Portugal this summer, NSG found out their set time yesterday (June 24th) - they were the opening act.
Deciding to pull out, the group posted their decision online:
Opening ke? 100% not coming https://t.co/kF97PSkv0T— NSG PAPII (@Papii_Abz) June 24, 2019
There’s no way on earth I’m gonna be opening act for anything don’t care the brand, the amount of years we have worked sorry chale— OGD (@OGD_NSG) June 24, 2019

The festival commented:
All of ur team were aware of the set time. Most of the line up was booked before Options was out, we added u to the bill because we like ur music.— KING SMADE (@iamSMADE) June 24, 2019
We’ve been working hard to put on the worlds first ever Afrobeats beach festival to celebrate the culture & the artists who make it https://t.co/A94RgXNXu9
But NSG shut this down by saying:
Correction, you enquired to book us when Options was Top 20 (#11) in February, don’t think Afronation was even a thing in November when we released Options.— NSG PAPII (@Papii_Abz) June 24, 2019
Fair enough you said the 17:00 set time, not the set list. Good luck with your first ever Afrobeats beach festival sha https://t.co/DM5Zhdnv0T
It all ended amicably, but the result is this: if you're going to Afro Nation 2019 then don't expect to see NSG on site.
Afro Nation festival runs between August 1st - 4th.
