Star to sing at ceremony

Heavily pregnant singer M.I.A. is due to perform at this year's Grammy awards ceremony, despite her baby being due on the same day.

The Sri Lankan born singer has enjoyed a stunning year. After its inclusion in the award winning film 'Slumdog Millionaire' her track 'Paper Planes' became a sleeper hit, eventually waltzing its way into the Billboard Top 5.

The song is nominated in the 'Record Of The Year' category and the Clash-sampling hit is one of the favourites to win. M.I.A. had better clear some space on her mantlepiece, being nominated for Oscars as well.

The singer is now due to perform at the Los Angeles ceremony. Amongst the other performers confirmed for the event are Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond and Smokey Robinson.

The Grammys will also boast an all star tribute to rock 'n' roll pioneer Bo Diddley featuring BB King, Buddy Guy, John Mayer and Keith Urban.

The Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday (February 8th) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
