Nashville based songwriter Madi Diaz has shared her new single 'Man In Me'.
The songwriter is highly regarded in Nashville, having worked on huge projects with some big name artists.
Along the way, however, she's held back certain ideas, retaining some intimate aspects of her work.
Signing with ANTI- Records, Madi is ready to open a fresh chapter, one that begins with her new single.
'Man In Me' is a deeply affecting piece of songwriting, with her tender lyricism drawing on a lengthy period of introversion in her life.
Produced by Diaz herself, it marks the start of something distinct in her life. She comments:
"’Man In Me’ was the first song I sat down to record for myself in about six years, which is the reason I thought it was so important to release first. It’s a very intimately visceral moment, a sort of play-by-play inner monologue, taking my first steps through a really hard time."
Stephen Kinigopoulos directs the potent video, one that “emphasises the intensity of a moment held and held and held. For me, this video is like holding a stare for so long that it hurts. It's like knowing you should let go, but you keep holding on cause you can't say ‘when,’ and playing with that tension lying right beneath the surface. You know something's up, but you just can't put your finger on it.”
Tune in now.
