Get Inuit have launched themselves into 2017 with new banger 'Barbiturates'.
The Kentish outfit spent 2016 playing smash 'n' grab live shows, while the New Year will witness the band stepping up a gear.
New single 'Barbiturates' leads the way. Taut, snappy, and highly infectious, frontman Jamie Glass describes he “wanted to write a song that could contain a theatrical contrast of ferocious guitars and silence. Skin-crawling screams and pitiful whispers. Manic episodes and tranquility.”
Glass continues: “I used the subject matter of drug reliance as a metaphor for the inner battle people have when trying to suppress rage, whether it be from a chemical addiction or just stress. I felt that the majority of songs I was listening to focused on one emotion and stretched out that feeling over the course of a song. It felt much more human to show inner conflict and mood changes rather than just pretend I’m only ever content, or in love, or depressed. I can be all of those things within the space of a minute.”

Get Inuit play London's Lexington on January 25th.
