Laura Marling is set to release new album 'Semper Femina' next year.
The songwriter recently completed her podcast series Reversal Of The Muse, analysing the role women play in the music industry.
Breaking cover, Laura Marling has outlined plans for her new album, recorded in LA in late 2015, and produced alongside US musician/producer Blake Mills.
'Semper Femina' will be released on March 10th (pre-order LINK), and the title echoes a line from the Greek poet Virgil. Laura explains:
"I started out writing 'Semper Femina' as if a man was writing about a woman, and then I thought; “it’s not a man, it’s me”. I don’t need to pretend it’s a man to justify the intimacy, or the way I’m looking and feeling about women. It’s me looking specifically at women and feeling great empathy towards them, and by proxy, towards myself."
New cut 'Soothing' is online now, and it also marks Laura Marling's directorial debut. Tune in now.
