Legendary film maker meets group

Returning nu-rave icons Klaxons have tracked down one of their heroes - film maker Jack Bond.

Klaxons have always stood out from the crowd. Arriving amid a barrage of hype, the group's visual appeal was a startling mixture of rave aesthetics and colourful, almost surreal imagination.

Returning with their second album, the band's outlandish imagery has helped grab the public's attention all over again. A huge fan of British director Jack Bond, singer Jamie Reynolds was recently given the chance to meet the film maker.

The pair sat down together to discuss each other's work, with Jack Bond revealed as an enormous influence on Klaxons.

The legendary film maker received his first break in 1965, when he spent two weeks filming Salvador Dali. Forming a solid friendship, Jack Pond worked extensively with the legendary artist over the course of the next 15 years.

Crafting deeply psychedelic film reels, Jack Pond's contribution to British cinema was given a well deserved boost with last year's re-issue campaign. 'VBS Meets Jack Bond' finds the director in a warm, reflective mood discussing his career with the young Klaxons songwriter.
