Soulful riser JGrrey returns with new single 'Down'.
Out now, it finds JGrrey leaning on her jazz roots, allowing this to intermingle with club tropes.
A murky, immersive glimpse into her world, 'Down' recalls Erykah Badu's darker moments - think 'Mama's Gun' - given a decidedly UK-centric twist.
Constructed alongside studio collaborator Owen Cutts, the agile vocal performance is packed with emotional nuance.
'Down' also comes backed with a startling video, one that channels her love of 80s Japanese horror flicks.
“I’d like to take credit for making “Down”, but actually… I think the song just happened to me at a time I needed it. I directed the music video and JAW produced and collaborated on it with me.”
Tune in now.
