Jay Prince Headlines Clash Winter Party

New issue launches with party in association with Cheap Monday

Scrap your scarf and give up your gloves – the temperature outside might be plummeting, but Clash is about to turn up the heat with another searing line-up of live music in celebration of the release of Clash Issue 102.

We’ll once again be descending upon East London to party – this time bringing with us local hero Jay Prince to govern the stage and raise the roof.

With his distinctive West Coast mellow flow, rapper Jay has been compared to Kendrick Lamar, yet remains resolutely British in his perceptive take on contemporary life. He’s shared stages with Ghostface Killah, Badbadnotgood and, this weekend, will be supporting Chance The Rapper on his latest UK jaunt. Jay’s recent mixtape, ‘Smile Good’, is an impressive melting pot of jazz, R&B, rock and hip-hop styles, lovingly coalesced into an assured set of tracks – including the excellent gospel-infused first single, ‘Father Father’ – that we’re bursting to hear brought to life.

The Clash Winter Party, held in association with Cheap Monday, will take place at The Arch Gallery in Bethnal Green on Thursday 1st December. Joining Jay Prince on the night will be singer/producer Léks Rivers, who will also be performing live, supplying his sensational soulful sounds, and DJ sets from The Menendez Brothers, Cousin, Hutch, Anna Wall, and Clash’s own in-house party-starters.

It’s a free event (wahoo!), but attendance is strictly RSVP only. To guarantee your place on the guestlist, email your name(s) now to press@clashmusic.com, or fill in the form below. Facebook Event Page.

Drinks will be provided by our good friends at Jägermeister and BrewDog.
