Rapper To Write TV Series

Incendiary American rapper is set to take to the small screen with rumors persisting that the former NWA artist is gearing up to write and produce a new comedy series.

The rapper has long been involved in acting and comedy - beginning with seminal American movie 'Boyz N The Hood' in the early 90s. He also helped resurrect the stoner movie genre by writing and producing the 'Friday' series of movies.

The former NWA man is set to write a new buddy cop comedy for NBC, US magazine Variety reports. He is not slated to star in the show, but it is thought that Ice Cube will make regular guest appearances and perhaps even write the theme song.

Ice Cube is set to have a busy 2009, working on a new album and rumored to be appearing the forthcoming cinematic remake of cults 80s tv show 'The A Team'.

The series is currently untitled but is expected to premiere in 2009.
