Epic Londoners get generous

Epic London types Fanfarlo have revealed a charitable streak, with the band selling their new album 'Reservoir' for just $1.

Fanfarlo were formed by Swedish ex-pat Simon Balthazar in 2006. The group blended a classical sweep with epic songwriting, crafting a blend of inventive indie rock that has bowled over critics.

The band have released three limited edition EPs this far, through a variety of London based indie labels. The six piece specialise in emotionally gripping songs, with live favourites including the spectacularly named early single 'You Are One Of The Few Outsiders Who Really Understands Us'.

Flitting between labels Fanfarlo recently released their new single 'Drowning Men' through Moshi Moshi. Debut album 'Reservoir' was released earlier this year, and in the making of the album Fanfarlo sought out some specialist help.

Recorded in the United States, the group turned to Sigur Ros singer Jonsi Bergisson, who suggested the sister of Czech photographer Jan Saudek. Eventually the group plumbed for a photograph which included Rosa - the younger sister of Icelandic musician Bergisson.

Fanfarlo are committed to allowing as many people to hear their music as possible. The group have slashed the price of their debut album 'Reservoir' to just $1. In addition to this, the amazing new download will also include four exclusive bonus tracks which are not on the physical copy of the album.

Fast becoming a massive word of mouth success, the band explained why they decided to do this in a statement to fans:

"Hello. Because we want everyone to hear our album, and in the spirit of “why not”, we are now letting you download it, along with 4 exclusive bonus tracks, for a mere one dollar until July 4th (or, if you like, Independence Day.) After that, the madness will end and you will be able to get the CD, the vinyl and a beautiful new special edition at normal prices."

Fanfarlo's new offer translates to just over 70p at the current exchange rate. What else can you buy for that? Well, Clash is currently offering a great new subscription offer that means you can buy three copies of the magazine for just £1!

That works out at 33.3p per issue. Click HERE for more information.
