Split a stunt, he says

Former Libertine Pete Doherty has branded the recent break up of Dirty Pretty Things as a publicity stunt.

The Babyshambles singer was invited to give a lecture at Trinity College last night (February 6th) where he made a number of revealing claims. Doherty was also given the honorary patronage of the University's Philosophical Society - one of the oldest student societies in the world.

Doherty smoked throughout, despite Ireland's band on public smoking. After a two and a half hour delay he began answering questions from the packed theatre. On Dirty Pretty Things he said "they’re still together, I think."

Asked about a 2007 interview with Sir Paul McCartney the singer said "I'd just come out of rehab to do the interview, I didn't even recognise him to be honest, with the medication I was on. They had to cut out a lot of it."

Pete Doherty also played a short acoustic set, including tracks from his new album. To hear songs from that album just click HERE!

Doherty played:

'Substitute'
'We Are QPR'
'Back From the Dead'
'Don't Look Back Into The Sun'
'Last of the English Roses'
'Albion'
