David Bowie's 'Blackstar' has been named red-hot favourite to win this year's Mercury Prize.
The re-jigged Hyundai Mercury Prize unveiled its shortlist earlier this summer, with Bowie's final studio album immediately sticking out.
Early betting placed it far ahead of the pack, with a diverse shortlist finding time to recognise soul - Michael Kiwanuka, Laura Mvula - grime, and more.
Ladbrokes place David Bowie at 4/7, a stick on compared to second place Radiohead at 10/1.
Matthew Shaddick of Ladbrokes said: "Informed music punters have decided that the emotional pull of a Bowie victory will be too hard for the judges to resist."
The winner of the Hyundai Mercury Prize will be announced tonight (September 15th).
