Band To Pay Artist

The long running dispute between Crystal Castles and artist Trevor Brown appears to be over after the band agreed to pay the artist for the use of the 'bruised Madonna' logo.

The Canadian chip tune mentalists began using the now famous image after seeing it on a flyer designed by Brown in 2006. They have since begun to use it on T-shirts which have become hugely popular with fans.

Trevor Brown accused the band of not paying him royalties or giving him due credit for the logo. However, apparently the dispute has now been brought to an end after the band's management paid him an undisclosed fee for the rights to the image.

Brown wrote a blog on the Baby Art site bringing the matter to a close:

"I think Crystal Castles have paid the penalty for their indiscretions," he wrote. "Let's move on."
