A brand new documentary on the rise of Led Zeppelin has been announced.
The film features the involvement of all three surviving members of the rock gods, and it focusses on their formation and rise to become globe conquering legends.
The documentary opens in the ashes of the Yardbirds, honing in on those initial rehearsals, their explosive debut album, and culminates in 'Led Zeppelin II' knocking The Beatles off the top spot to establish Led Zeppelin as the biggest band on the planet.
The film was constructed by the award-winning team behind American Epic, and will be steered by director Bernard MacMahon.
Jimmy Page explains: “When I saw everything Bernard had done both visually and sonically on the remarkable achievement that is American Epic, I knew he would be qualified to tell our story.”
“Seeing Will Shade, and so many other important early American musicians, brought to life on the big screen in American Epic inspired me to contribute to a very interesting and exciting story,” adds frontman Robert Plant.
John Paul Jones finishes: “The time was right for us to tell our own story for the first time in our own words, and I think that this film will really bring that story to life.”
The new Led Zeppelin documentary is currently in post-production.
