Bob Dylan has finally acknowledged his Nobel Prize For Literature award.
The songwriter was granted the honour earlier this month, but seemed to go out of his way to pretend it wasn't happening.
Rebuffing frequent calls, even a small piece on his website recognising the award was thereafter removed.
However Dylan has now broken his silence. In a call to Sara Danius, the permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy, Dylan said: "I appreciate the honour so much," before adding: "The news about the Nobel prize left me speechless."
In a separate interview with the Telegraph confirmed that he fully intended to attend the award ceremony.
The songwriter said: "It’s hard to believe... amazing, incredible. Whoever dreams about something like that?"
Nobel week takes place in Stockholm this December.
