Reformed group add date

Reformed Britpop heroes Blur have announced an extra tour date this summer at Manchester MEN Arena.

The band revealed their reformation late last year, ending months of speculation. Singer Damon Albarn had been the only hold out, but it seems he is keen to re-visit the group's material.

One of the most influential British groups of the 90s, Blur's back catalogue is bulging with hits. The band went on hiatus after guitarist Graham Coxon left the group.

Blur previously announced two shows at London's Hyde Park, as well as two festival appearances at T In The Park and Oxegen. They are widely rumoured to be scheduling a headline performance at this year's Glastonbury.

Blur of course had a famous war of words with Oasis during the mid 90s. At the height of the feud the group would not play Manchester, giving this date added significance.

Tickets for the upcoming Manchester show go on sale at 9am on Friday (February 13th).
