Reforming with no small amount of hype, OutKast's return has been trailed by a mountain of rumour, speculation and high hopes.
Earlier this year, former manager and close friend to the group Queen Latifah spoke to Stateside radio host Howard Stern.
Asked what the hip hop group were up to, Queen Latifah said: "about to work on a new album".
However it seems that such talk is slightly wide of the mark. Speaking to Revolt TV, Big Boi explained that the upcoming live dates would not, in fact, be accompanied by fresh material.
"No, no, no. We’re just doing the tour only, just for the fans. That’s all it is, just the tour" the rapper said. "It’s just the Outkast 20th year anniversary, just a way for us to celebrate with our fans, but there’s no album in the works, no."
However Big Boi fans won't be starved of solo cuts. The rapper confirmed that work on his third solo LP is under way, while a forthcoming mixtape is set to be inspired by - what else? - 'Game Of Thrones'.
OutKast are set to play Wireless and Bestival this summer.
