Mike D reveals in court...
Beastie Boys

The past 12 months have seen the remaining members of the Beastie Boys caught up in various legal disputes.

Determined to protect their legacy, the group tackled Monster Energy Drink after they used elements of their music in an advert without permission.

Currently ongoing, court proceedings saw Mike D reveal a tiny vignette of fresh information: to wit, there will be no new Beastie Boys music.

As a promise to the late Adam Yauch, the remaining members will not continue to make tracks under the Beastie Boys name. Under cross-examination, Mike D said: "We have not been able to tour since MCA, Adam Yauch, died... We can't make new music."

Mike D also explained that the group turned down permission to use 'Sabotage' in the Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle of the same name, saying: "We weren’t fans of Mr. Schwarzenegger’s recent... work."

It's all about the early stuff, eh guys?
