Avant R&B with somnambulist feel...

ATELLER makes music that seems to seep out of dreams.

Fusing a left field appetite for electronic introspection with a clear love for R&B, his music drifts through various spheres, embarking on viscous journeys.

New album 'I AM U' is incoming, with ATELLER broadening his aesthetic ambitions still further.

New track 'Anxiety In The Taxi Cab // She Sleeps' was built at night, and there's a definite twilight feel to its synthetic abstraction.

Tender and sparse, the breakdown leads into a neat spoken word section, utilising words from acclaimed director David Lynch.

It's a striking, almost otherworldly song, one that proceeds at ballad pace.

ATELLER explains...

"This song was made on my laptop while an ex girlfriend was sleeping besides me. I was trying to capture the sadness I felt regarding how interchangeable we are to each other: 'when you sleep, and I know it could be many other things...' The David Lynch quote at the second half is particularly close to my heart, for it perfectly captures the artist's struggle against conformity, and lack of support from family members. It gives me hope seeing that he nonetheless never gave up."

"The music video was directed by one of my best friends, Ben Kirschenbaum, whose cinematic vision is rare and genius. I know he wouldn't want me to suggest any potential interpretations for the video, so that's gonna be on the viewer to figure out."

Tune in now.
