London newcomer Arlo Day has shared her powerful, pensive new single 'Bad Timing'.
The songwriter has just signed to Domino, and her debut EP 'Bad Timing' was fuelled by a dark spell in her life.
Mature, rounded, but endlessly emotive music, Arlo's personal touches means her lyrics have a therapeutic quality.
Out on May 31st, the EP is led by the wonderful title track, a home recorded vignette that delves into the aftermath of a messy break up.
Arlo explains: “I recorded ‘Bad Timing’ at home last summer, it was a song I wrote after a break up when many things in my life seemed out of sync. I was aiming to capture the feeling of loss and how hindsight can really do a number on you sometimes.”
A wonderfully balanced piece of songwriting, 'Bad Timing' is worth filing alongside Conor Oberst or Julien Baker, but with a riveting voice of her own.
Tune in now.
Catch Arlo Day at London's Bermondsey Social Club on June 6th.
