"How's everyone in the cheap seats? The problem is they're not so cheap!"
Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones played the first of their shows at the O2 Arena last night (November 25th) playing a hit laden set to thousands of fans.

One of rock's truly iconic names, The Rolling Stones confirmed their return to live action earlier this year. The band outlined plans for some trans-Atlantic shows, including two dates at London's enormous O2 Arena venue.

Tickets sold out almost instantly, with the band taking to the stage last night (November 25th) in front of a capacity crowd. Opening with a series of tributes from famous fans, the screens lit up with testimony from the likes of Johnny Depp, Iggy Pop and more.

Opening with early hit 'I Wanna Be Your Man' the band then tore into 'Get Off My Cloud'. Keith Richards teased out the unmistakable guitar intro for 'Gimme Shelter' with Mary G Blige on hand to perform Merri Clayton's vocal parts.

An emotional 'Wild Horses' came up next, before legendary guitarist Jeff Beck assisted the band on 'I'm Going Down'. Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor had already confirmed their involvement, and both made special guest appearances during the set.

Bass player Bill Wyman returned for 'It's Only Rock And Roll' while Mick Taylor joined the band for 'Midnight Rambler'. Taken from 'Let It Bleed' the cut has long been a powerhouse of the Rolling Stones live set, and saw Taylor return to the fold for the first time since 1974.

Taking a short break, The Rolling Stones invited two choirs on stage to join them on 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' before blasting through 'Jumping Jack Flash'. The price of tickets had been a major talking point before the show, and at one point Mick Jagger addressed the issue: "How's everyone in the cheap seats? The problem is they're not so cheap!"
