Supersonic Finalises Its Music Bill

Birmingham festival welcomes Swans and more…

The return of Supersonic Festival, as Supersonic Ltd Ed 2014, is a welcome shot in the arm for the domestic alternative scene. Curated by Capsule, the Birmingham event has historically attracted a wealth of outsider artists – and this year it’s headlined by one of the most powerful forces in experimental rock, Swans (pictured).

Recent additions Evil Blizzard, the magnificently named Sly & The Family Drone, Pharmakon, Opium Lord and Youth Man have closed out the musical bill for this late-May two-dayer, held on the 30th and 31st at Birmingham’s Custard Factory. They join a roster of performers including Matmos, Ex-Easter Island Head, Jenny Hval, Wolf Eyes and Chris Brokaw.

Get the full line-up and ticket information from the festival’s official website. Also there, you’ll find details on films, exhibitions, workshops, talks, presentations and special performances, all going on under the Supersonic banner.

“For curious audiences,” its masthead proclaims. So if the bold and the brave in music does it for you, you know where to head.
