Grunge pioneers head to Victoria Park...

Pixies have been unveiled as one of the headliners for next year's Field Day festival. Field Day is changing.

Next year's event finds the festival expanding to two days, running across the weekend of June 7th and 8th. This morning (November 26th) organisers made the first announcement, with Pixies set to top the line up.

In a short statement Field Day said: "We are proud to announce that seminal band PIXIES will be headlining Field Day on Sunday 8th June 2014. Don't miss out on your first chance to see brand new material live in the UK."

Recently performing at London's iTunes festival, Pixies are fresh from releasing a new EP - their first blast of fresh material in 20 years.

Check out a new instalment of Field Day radio below, featuring contributions from Pixies' Black Francis, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering.

Field Day runs between June 7th and 8th.
