Aphex Twin has confirmed plans to play next summer's instalment of Field Day.
The legendary producer has been somewhat shy of live performance during recent years, but recently agreed to cross the Atlantic to play Houston's Day for Night festival.
Over the weekend speculation mounted that the Warp legend was set to play a London date next summer, with mysterious flyers appearing around the capital.
Now it's been confirmed: Aphex Twin will headline next year's Field Day, playing the festival's new state of the art indoor second main stage arena The Barn.
Festival founder Tom Baker explains: “It's truly amazing to have Aphex Twin headline Field Day, I've been listening to him since I was 16, he played and curated some of the first ever Eat Your Own Ears nights (the most memorable being a warehouse on Brick Lane that got closed down by the police!) so it's an incredible honour to have him play our brand new indoor monolithic second main stage arena…It will be a phenomenal, mind blowing, mesmerisingly, fantastic two hours of absolute genius….AFX WOW”.
Tickets go on sale from 9am on December 1st.
Field Day takes place on June 3rd.
